Local Hero Spotlight:
Lori Williams of Home Helpers Home Care Avalon Park
The 5th Floor Orlando is proud to highlight this month’s Local Hero, Lori Williams, owner of Home Helpers Home Care Avalon Park—a business rooted in compassion, purpose, and community.
Lori’s journey to Avalon Park began through a personal connection that led her to discover a place she instantly felt at home. After spending 35 years in Corporate America, she knew it was time to follow a deeper calling. With a lifelong passion for giving back, Lori and her husband took a leap of faith and opened their home health care business, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Her work is deeply personal. Lori shares that a close friend who passed away from a terminal illness continues to inspire her every day. Their conversations about serving others left a lasting impact, motivating Lori to carry on that legacy through her business and her service to the community.
When asked what being a “local hero” means, Lori humbly reflects that many people are already heroes—they just may not realize it. She believes in leading with integrity, compassion, and purpose, hoping to make a positive impact, even in ways she may never see.
For Lori, Avalon Park is more than just a location—it’s a true community. From the moment she arrived, she felt welcomed, supported, and inspired to grow. And it’s clear that through her work, she’s doing exactly that—making Avalon Park a better place, one act of care at a time.
